Senate Meetings:
Tuesday during the fall and spring semesters at 6PM in Harrison Hall
The Senate gallery is open to all interested persons and the Senate actively encourages members of the student body to attend Senate and see their government in action.
In order to keep business moving, ensure each Senator has time to speak, and to keep order in the body, the President of the Senate, as chairman of the Senate, can, however, allow members of the gallery to speak for a limited amount of time.
If you wish to speak before Senate, please consult with the President of the Senate before the meeting.
Mission Statement:
To play a clearly defined and significant role in the formation and application of institutional policy affecting both academic and student affairs of Miami University. This is undertaken for the betterment of the student body.

In order to fulfill this task, the Senate seeks to:
Provide communication and understanding between the student body and the university.
Promote and further the educational experience and opportunities of the student body by working to expand student participation and involvement.
Coordinate activities, communication, and services of general benefit to the student body.
Protect the individual rights and freedoms of students.
Promote responsible student body conduct.
Provide an official and representative student organization with the power to receive student complaints, investigate student complaints, and participate in decisions affecting students.
